Family Tradition
Family Tradition is a 38 Rampage Express with twin Cummins diesels. She cruises around 20 knots, holds 400 gallons of diesel, has an air-conditioned cabin, tuna tower, and living space amenities. She is outfitted with old but functional Raymarine electronics along with a forward spotlight, underwater lights, an automatic fire extinguishing system, windshield wipers, and trim tabs.
This is a heavy deep-V express that handles moderate offshore swells well. Due to the weight, she burns diesel at about .4-.5mpg. Therefore, diesel costs are expensive.
Fishing on Family Tradition is an all day affair. We will be leaving from one of three Texas Marina's (Captions decision), Pelican Rest Marina in Galveston, Bridge Harbor in Freeport, or Freeport Maina NLT Sunrise. Summer storms seem to roll in late afternoon, so we plan to get out early and return to the dock no later than 5:00 pm. I will supply threaded herein for bait, however if you want something else, bait can be purchased from any number of local bait shops (ask me if you need a recommendation)
The boat will be filled with 400 gallons of diesel. Life vests, fire extinguisher, emergency ditch bag,, 6 person life raft, and a satellite tracker will all be onboard for safety. Please plan for a full day on the water.
